Redistricting, or community districting, is the process of creating representational district maps for states and local communities. It impacts how our communities are represented and how resources are distributed.

Redistricting happens every 10 years based on the data collected in the US Census. Accurate Census counts are crucial because through redistricting, Census counts directly affect a community's political representation and allocated government resources.
Section 2, Article I of the Constitution calls for a process of reapportioning (redistributing) seats in the House of Representatives every ten years based on Census population counts.
