Faculty members may place books, films, and other materials especially useful in their classes on Course Reserve in the Library.
Most Course Reserve materials are restricted to in-library use only. Faculty members may request that Course Reserve materials instead be available for check-out to students in the class for 2-day, 1-day, or 2-hour loan periods.
Placing Materials on Course Reserve
Any item held by the DI Library may be placed on Course Reserve. Personal copies of textbooks or other materials can be placed on Course Reserve with the understanding that the DI Library assumes no responsibility for replacing them should they become lost, stolen, damaged, or destroyed. If this happens, faculty will be notified to either replace the copy or to withdraw it from Course Reserves.
Library Orientations
The Librarian can arrange a customized library orientation to familiarize students with the materials and services relevant to a particular course or assignment. An orientation can be as brief as 5 minutes or as long as an hour.
