Bandi Chor Divas

Bandi Chor Divas, which typically comes in the fall, marks the day on which the sixth guru, Guru Hargobind, was released from wrongful imprisonment and returned to the community. It typically coincides with Diwali, which is also celebrated.

Guru Nanak Gurpurab

One of the most sacred festivals, celebrating the birth of the first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak. It is celebrated around November.

Hola Mohalla

A celebration of martial arts and physical feats. This three-day long festival is usually in March.

Vaisakhi

Vaisakhi is a major Sikh holiday. In addition to being a spring harvest festival, it marks the day on which the tenth Sikh guru, Guru Gobind Singh, created the Khalsa Panth, the community of initiated Sikhs. It is in April.
